In Ridley Scott's Prometheus, Theron plays the dark character of Meredith Vickers, who is in charge of the Prometheus ship. She delivers a cold and unsympathetic performance and stands as one of the film's main antagonists. She shows us a character who does not care for the safety of the passengers. She only cares about accomplishing the mission at hand. There are many points in the film where one would be uncertain if Vickers was even human. Theron was the perfect choice for the role, and she absolutely delivers the goods.

Theron leads the way as Imperator Furiosa in George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. Theron proved, once again, that she is perfectly capable of leading in a fantastic action/sci-fi film. She plays a character who is outrunning an evil army after helping a group of young women escape the hands of Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne). Theron has a great emotional range from beginning to end, and her physicality was great. By the end of the film, you can see, through her performance, how close she is to death. There are several emotional moments from Theron throughout the film, and it wouldn't have been the same without her. Theron's on-screen chemistry with Tom Hardy was also top-notch despite their on-set feud, as outlined by Vanity Fair.
