Despite the fact that it has barely been a year since the premiere of Doctor Stranger in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel fans are wondering what will happen to the characters introduced in the film, such as America Chavez and Clea, played by Xochitl Gomez and Charlize Theron. The Oscar-Winning actress for Monster is one of the recent big stars that have joined the MCU, being a pleasant surprise for fans in the post-credits scene of the film directed by Sam Raimi. And, despite the fact that her character has a great weight in the comics and the arcs related to Doctor Stranger, her appearance was very brief and little is known about the role she will occupy in the future of the franchise. And it seems that not even the actress herself knows it.While promoting her latest film, Fast X, Theron spoke to Josh Horowitz for MTV and revealed what she knows about her future in the MCU:

“I don’t. No, I haven’t gotten a call. I’ve not gotten a– Is that bad? Is that bad? Is that bad? No, I’m not lying… I haven’t gotten a call. Is that bad?”

Of course, the actress might know way more than she admits, since many Marvel stars have hidden information about projects they’re involved in the past. And given the fact her character appeared only on a post-credit scene, this means she will play an important part in future stories she might not be able to talk about. Although, it will most likely be Doctor Strange 3.

Who’s Clea and What Her Role in the MCU Could Be in the Future?

Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Clea made her debut in 1964's Strange Tales #126, although she was originally introduced without a name and it wasn't until several years later that her identity was officially revealed. Daughter of supervillain Umar and Doctor Strange's fearsome foe Dormammu, she eventually becomes the Sorcerer Supreme's love interest.

But the most interesting connection with the MCU’s main plot has to do with the place where Clea comes from, the Dark Dimension, the place from which the Darkhold used by Wanda in the film also comes and whose powers unleash the chaos that triggers the film’s story.

In other words, Clea's arrival in the MCU is surely related to the use of this magic and a warning to Strange about everything it can cause. Doctor Stranger in the Multiverse of Madness was directly connected to the events of WandaVision, so the story could continue in Agatha Coven of Chaos, a spinoff of the first series of the franchise released on Disney+.

In the scene where she appears, Clea goes looking for Strange to help her solve something that he himself caused by traveling through the multiverse, so the character could function as a guide for Strange in his new adventures through the multiple realities.
