Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are in early talks to return as Clark and Ellen Grisworld in New Line Cinema's Vacation reboot. We reported last March that both characters were written into the script, but the actors hadn't entered into negotiations until recently.

Ed Helms stars as Rusty Griswold, who takes his wife (Christina Applegate) and children on their first road trip family vacation. Along the way, they make a pit stop to see Rusty's mom and dad, Clark and Ellen Griswold (Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo).

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo starred as the Griswold parents in 1983's Vacation, 1985's European Vacation, 1989's Christmas Vacation, and 1997's Vegas Vacation. They also starred in a recent series of Old Navy commercials, along with all of the actors who played their children throughout the franchise.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are making their directorial debuts on the project, working from their own screenplay. The pair previously wrote comedies such as Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, and the upcoming sequels Horrible Bosses 2 and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

David Dobkin is producing through his David Dobkin Productions company. No production schedule was given.
