The 1977 TV series CHiPs is the latest classic TV series to receive the reboot treatment, according to Deadline TV. The site reports that actor Topher Grace will be executive producing the new series along with Numb3rs creators Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton.

It was said that the new series had not been shopped to any networks as of yet but, with the buzz surrounding Hawaii Five-0, another reboot of a 1970s TV series that will debut this fall, it is likely this project could spark some interest.

The original CHiPs series starred Larry Wilcox as Jon Baker and Erik Estrada as Francis "Ponch" Poncherello, two motorcycle officers with the California Highway Patrol.

A feature film version of CHiPs has also been in development at Warner Bros., with Wilmer Valderrama attached to star. You can CLICK HERE to read our exclusive interview with Valderrama to learn more about this film project.
