Chris Hemsworth has shared some "ice cold" images from Extraction 2. The film is currently two weeks into production, and Hemsworth decided to give the fans a glimpse of what Extraction 2 will look like. And it is in complete contrast to the first film. Extraction was set in tropical Bangladesh but was filmed in India. Extraction 2, however, has swapped the humidity in favor of snow as it shoots in Prague, the Czech Republic. The color grading has also been changed from yellow to blue. You can check out the images below.

Chris Hemsworth shared the images on his Instagram with the caption, "Week two down on Extraction 2, here’s a couple ice cold snaps." The first picture features a battered Hemsworth atop a train. His hair looks on point though. The second image has got Hemsworth flexing with director Sam Hargrave. The duo recently posted a video confirming that Tyler Rake survived the events of Extraction.

"Two things are very different from the last film, one - very very cold. Two - I'm alive. How? You'll have to find out. Watch the movie. Stay Tuned."

Fans are expecting some answers from Extraction 2. In particular, how a man can survive after being shot in the neck and falling into a river? Guess we’ll find out when the film is released. Extraction debuted on Netflix last year and took the world by storm. It featured some of the best action sequences produced by Hollywood in recent memory and received mostly positive reviews from the critics. However, some said it prioritized stunt work over a good story. But fans were having none of it. Extraction became one of the biggest hits on the streaming service, and as expected, a sequel was deemed inevitable.

Extraction follows a jaded mercenary, Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), who is assigned a mission to rescue an Indian drug lord’s son from his Bangladeshi rival. Extraction was written by Joe Russo and directed by the long-time Marvel stunt coordinator, Sam Hargrave. Alongside Chris Hemsworth in the lead, the film also starred Rudraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, David Harbour, Golshifteh Farahani, and Pankaj Tripathi. After the colossal success of Extraction, a sequel was quickly greenlit and, as per the makers, Netflix is planning a whole shared universe with spinoffs and what not around Extraction.

Now we know Tyler Rake is alive. What we don’t know is if the upcoming Extraction 2 will be a sequel or a prequel. As per Joe Russo, it could be both.

"I started writing the sequel (prequel?) three weeks ago. It's a great character to write for, with a fantastic performance from Hemsworth. So, it makes my job easier. I think the mission is to up the scale on this one, both emotionally and physically."

Who knows? Maybe we’ll get to see one of Rake’s past missions in flashbacks. Extraction 2 is currently filming in Europe after COVID-19 restrictions forced the makers to abandon their plans to shoot the film in Australia. The film is eyeing a 2023 release date and will exclusively stream on Netflix. Let’s hope the cast and crew of Extraction 2 deliver another outstanding action thriller with visceral, jaw-dropping stunts like the first film.
