When fans found out that screenwriter Chris Morgan was going to be replaced on Wanted 2 by Evan Spiliotopoulos - best known for writing Pooh's Heffalump Movie - the initial reaction was one of shock and disbelief. Even after getting support from Wanted comic creator Mark Millar, fans remained skeptical. Now, Morgan has spoken to MTV where he discussed why he had handed over writing duties, and explained that he will still be involved in Wanted 2.

"We knew we wanted to do Wanted 2, so we started developing a take and came up with a story that's pretty good and develops the characters," Morgan said. "But in the process of developing it, I also had commitments to Gears of War and the samurai movie I'm doing at Universal." So, how is Morgan going to remain involved?

"Evan is going to go ahead and write the story that we came up with and I'm probably going to come on later," Morgan explained. "So, I'm still part of the process, but I didn't want to hold up the Wanted 2 production schedule.

Does Morgan have any resentment at how things are playing out? Not at all. "It's all good," Morgan laughed.

James McAvoy is expected to return to star in Wanted 2, and Timur Bekmambetov will direct again.
