In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Chris O'Dowd has joined the cast of the Fox comedy Gulliver's Travels.

The actor joins a cast that features Jack Black, Jason Segel, Amanda Peet and Emily Blunt.

In this new version, we follow travel writer Lemuel Gulliver (Black), who gets off task on an assignment at the Bermuda Triangle. He eventually finds himself at the secret island of Lilliput. O'Dowd will play the role of Edward, Black's nemesis on Lilliputian.

Directing the film is Rob Letterman (Monsters Vs. Aliens). The screenplay was initially written by Joe Stillman (Shrek 2). Rewrites were done by Nicholas Stoller (Yes Man) as well as Thomas Lennon & Robert Ben Garant (Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian).
