Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Star Trek's Chris Pine is in talks for a starring role in Fox's buddy comedy This Means War.

Directed by McG, the film has been searching for a leading man after Bradley Cooper dropped out in February.

Reese Witherspoon stars in the comedy that pits two spying best friends against each other when they both fall for the same woman (Witherspoon). The studio is still trying to find Pine's sparring buddy for the film.

This Means War has been in development for over a decade at Fox. The studio purchased it back in 1998 and the most recent draft is from Role Models scribe Timothy Dowling. The studio still plans to get the movie into production in July.
