Amazon Prime Video has released the official teaser for the upcoming action thriller series The Terminal List, starring Chris Pratt. The Terminal List is based on Jack Carr’s best-selling novel of the same name, and follows a disoriented Navy SEAL as he tries to discover why his last mission went wrong and who is trying to cover it up. The Terminal List premieres July 1 on Prime Video. You can check out the trailer below.

The official plot synopsis for The Terminal List reads:

"Based on the best-selling novel by Jack Carr, The Terminal List follows James Reece (Chris Pratt) after his entire platoon of Navy SEALs is ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission. Reece returns home to his family with conflicting memories of the event and questions about his culpability. However, as new evidence comes to light, Reece discovers dark forces working against him, endangering not only his life, but the lives of those he loves."

The action-packed teaser for The Terminal List opens with Pratt’s James Reece remembering fragments of a botched operation that wiped out his entire Navy SEAL platoon. Reece struggles with memory loss when he returns home while the military tries to cover up what happened. As Reece searches for answers, he teams up with journalist Katie Buranek (Constance Wu). However, the deeper he goes, the more dangerous his quest for answers gets, and Reece soon finds himself and his family in danger. What follows are epic gunfights, car chases, explosions, and a very cool shot of Reece brandishing an ax while threatening a chained-up man.

Pratt has previously called the character a "rowdy motherf***er," and to put things into perspective, the first look at The Terminal List showed Pratt dragging a tied-up enemy. The Terminal List is certainly a different type of project for Chris Pratt, as he’s now become a household name with roles in the Marvel and Jurassic World franchises. It’ll be refreshing to see him take on a more mature, unhinged role in The Terminal List.

The series is directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer) and Ellen Kuras (The Umbrella Academy, Ozark). David DiGilio (Eight Below) serves as co-writer and showrunner. The Terminal List also features a stacked star cast, comprising Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, Riley Keough, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Arlo Mertz, Jai Courtney, JD Pardo, Patrick Schwarzenegger, LaMonica Garrett, Stephen Bishop, Sean Gunn, Warren Kole, Tyner Rushing, Nick Chinlund, Jared Shaw, Alexis Louder, Christina Vidal, and Matthew Rauch.

The Terminal List has long been a passion project for both Chris Pratt and Antoine Fuqua. And when the opportunity arrived, all it took was a phone call between the duo to collaborate on the project. "Chris calls me, and he goes, 'Hey, Terminal List.’ I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm trying to get it.' He goes, 'Well, why don't I get it and then we just do it together?' I was like, 'Let's go!' It couldn't have been a better fit," Fuqua told EW earlier this month.

Author Jack Carr, a former Navy Seal, has written more novels surrounding the character, and Fuqua hopes the upcoming series will spawn more seasons. "Absolutely, absolutely. Me and Chris, we always saw this as one big movie. In fact, if I'd had the time, I would have done every episode with Chris as one big film. So it would be fun to continue on with the story," Fuqua said when asked about The Terminal List’s future.

All eight episodes of The Terminal List will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from July 1, 2022.
