In Hollywood right now, it is hard to tune into anything without finding at least one Chris or another starring in it. The MCU alone has had its fair share, with three main stars sharing the first name in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. While Chris Evans has now departed, Chris Hemsworth is about to return once more as Thor, and in tow this time is Chris Pratt, reprising his role as Peter “Star-Lord” Quill. And according to Pratt, he would rather be called anything other than Chris.

As well as his Marvel co-stars, Chris Pratt also has Star Trek and Wonder Woman star Chris Pine to contend with in the famous Chris stakes, and it appears that he isn’t too fond of the name and would prefer to be known by something else. While being interviewed on SiriusXM’s Pop Culture Spotlight with Jessica Shaw (via Entertainment Weekly), Pratt commented that there are other ways he would prefer to be addressed, as Chris just doesn’t sound right. He said:

"Pratt. CP. You know, CP. 'Hey, CP.' But no one calls me Chris. My friend, Chad. I went golfing with my friend, Chad, my pastor the other day and he was like, 'No one calls you Chris? I'm gonna call you Chris. Alright, Chris. You're up.' And I was like, 'No, it feels weird. It's not my name. Don't call me Chris.'"

While there are certainly plenty of worse names to be called, with so many famous Chrises to be compared to and confused with, it would be no surprise for Pratt to want to be known as something else, especially when sharing screen time and being directed with co-stars like Hemsworth.

Currently, a lot of the focus of Thor: Love and Thunder’s reviews and press has been centered on the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/The Mighty Thor and the introduction of Christian Bale’s villain, Gorr the God Butcher. So where does that leave Chris Pratt and his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy. Well, there have been a number of different views on the Guardians’ involvement in the movie, from them being only there at the start to transition the movie from Avengers: Endgame’s storyline, to their potential involvement in the fight against Gorr.

Recent comments made by Pratt regarding director Taika Waititi including Thor’s space goats in the movie as a prank on James Gunn, who then will have them in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, suggests that the Guardians will be around at the end of the movie as well as the beginning in some way. With a villain who comes with the credentials of Gorr, it would be fair to assume that Thor needs all the help he can get to defeat the God Butcher.

Currently, early reviews have been mostly positive about the movie, which seems to be delivering everything that has been promised by Waititi, Hemsworth, and the numerous trailers. Without any multiverse expectations attached to the movie, Thor: Love and Thunder could well become Marvel’s next $1 billion movie.
