Jackie Chan has previously announced that Rush Hour 4 is currently in the works. At the time, Chan only mentioned meeting with the director to work on the script, but no further details were given about the project. A Rush Hour film wouldn’t be complete without Chris Tucker’s Carter and the actor has hinted on what’s coming to the upcoming Rush Hour 4.

While promoting for his current film Air, Chris Tucker spoke to Audacy’s V-103 to discuss his future projects and one of the films that was included is Rush Hour 4. The actor hinted that the fans would be delighted on their comeback since they have new offerings. He said Audacy as reported by Variety,

“You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level.”

Tucker further revealed that the film will be a little different from the previous Rush Hour as they’ve prepared something the fans have never seen before. Tucker admitted that he’s thrilled to be working on the franchise again as he enjoyed working with Jackie Chan. He said,

“That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… ‘Rush Hour 4,’ that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it.”

Warner Bros. Dismissed The Idea of Brett Ratner Directing The Film

Dwayne Johnson Is Armed for Battle in a New Hercules Featurette

Filmmaker Brett Ratner has helmed all three Rush Hour films, however, due to some allegations of harassment and misconduct behavior by the director over the years, film and entertainment studio Warner Bros. has severed ties with him. At the moment there are no reports on who’s set to direct the film. While the director claims he’s directing Rush Hour 4, the producers already dismissed the idea of having him on the project. An executive previously explained to THR why Ratner was so keen on making the film, he said,

"Brett has been walking around town telling people he's going to direct a Rush Hour movie because it's his only way back in. He's trying to make believe he's employable."

The project has been in talks for years, Tucker even mentioned the project as early as 2018, but the said project nowhere over the last years until Jackie Chan finally confirms last December at the Red Sea International Film Festival that the project is officially happening.
