The Wrap has confirmed that actor Chris Zylka will in fact play Eugene "Flash" Thompson in the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot.

The news first surfaced three weeks ago, with the actor revealing on his Twitter account that he won the role. Now The Wrap's source close to the production has confirmed this news to be true.

Eugene "Flash" Thompson is a star football player at Peter Parker's high school, who antagonizes Parker but, at the same time, looks up to his Spider-Man alter-ego. Joe Manganiello first played Flash Thompson in the original 2002 Spider-Man adventure.

Marc Webb is directing the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot from a script by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent. Untitled Spider-Man Reboot is currently in production in New York City.
