The 2008 film Possessor follows Tasya Vos (Andrea Risebourough), an assassin who possesses other humans when carrying out her jobs. Abbott plays Colin Tate, who is possessed by Vos and forced to commit murder. The black comedy On The Count Of Three was the directorial debut of Jerrod Carmichael. The film follows two friends, played by Carmichael and Abbott, on the final day before their suicide pact. Abbott's character is deep, complex, and sometimes disturbing, and yet, he honestly conveys the turmoils of mental illness with his performance.
