Season two of Syfy and USA Network’s Chucky has been expanding its cast, and two of its new additions will see Jennifer Tilly reunited with her co-stars from the 1996 crime thriller Bound. The success of Chucky’s first season guaranteed a return for the killer doll, and it looks like season two is building up its new list of possible victims for Chucky to dispatch later this year, including Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano, who previously shared screen time with Tilly over 25 years ago.
Chucky brings the Child’s Play movie franchise to the small screen, keeping the continuity of the movies intact and picking up after the events of the 2017 movie Cult of Chucky. As the doll is reborn to wreak havoc in Hackensack, New Jersey, the first season saw Brad Dourif once again lending his voice to Chucky, while Tilly, Christine Elise, Alex Vincent and Fiona Dourif reprising their movie roles as Tiffany, Kyle, Alex and Nica, although Fiona also played a pretty convincing younger version of Charles Lee Ray and will do so again in season two. Also making a surprising return is Devon Sawa, who saw both of his season one characters killed off but will be back in the new season as another character.
Syfy shared the latest updates on casting with a photo showing the new arrivals together with Jennifer Tilly, and while there has been no word on whom they will be playing, it is only a matter of time until some more information is revealed. As well as Gershon and Pantoliano, other newcomers are Tony Nappo, Sutton Stracke and Meg Tilly, the younger sister of Jennifer. The latest announcement comes just after Hannibal star Lara Jean Chorostecki was reported to have joined the production.
Chucky Season Two Will Continue the Reign of Terror
The transition of a much-loved film franchise to the small screen always comes with some risk, but having pretty much the same team on board certainly helped Chucky succeed when it debuted last year. With familiar characters but a brand new story to tell, it avoided playing too much on its past and concentrated firmly on the continuation of Chucky’s story. Fans instantly jumped on board the train, and season two didn’t take too long to be sent in motion. Mancini previously shared his excitement for the second season in a post.

Chucky is expected to return to screens for his new misadventures this October, and while there has been no set date revealed, it is likely that it drop in line with last year’s release just in time for Halloween season.
