Sorry, Jack. Chucky's back! At least he will be if Chucky gets renewed for a third season by USA Network and Syfy. Debuting its first season in October 2021, Chucky serves as a continuation of the original Child's Play films and subsequent Chucky movies. While there was a 2019 Child's Play reboot with an unconnected storyline, Chucky ignores that film entirely by picking up after the events of 2017's Cult of Chucky.Chucky the killer doll, voiced from the start by Brad Dourif, has been around since 1988. Even so, his popularity only seems to be on the rise with horror fans in 2022. The first season was acclaimed, garnering an impressive 91% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2 was even more well-received, managing to snag a perfect 100% score with the critics. Perhaps the switch in mediums from film to TV has done wonders with making Chucky fresh again, considering some of those sequels featuring the doll had been pummeled pretty hard by bad reviews at the times of their respective releases. On social media, fans are also making it clear how much they enjoyed season 2. They've banded together with a social media campaign that's demanding an official renewal for season 3 to be announced. Following the season 2 finale, the hashtag #RenewChucky has been getting popularized with more and more fans making it clear that the Good Guy deserves at least another season to shine."Chucky has been a huge success for SYFY and reviews have been raving all about its second season," one fan says on Twitter. "It would be absolutely foolish for them to cancel this gem of a show."Using the hashtag, another fan adds, "Chucky by far the best series to come from an established slasher icon. we need season three. so yeah.""A Season 3 of Chucky is a must and needed," says someone else. "Let's #RenewChucky!! I can't see why it wouldn't happen, since, as far as I've seen, reviews, viewer numbers, etc have been great. I'll sit with the thought it'll happen eventually, so I can't wait for Chucky Season 3!!"

Chucky Series

Chucky is created by Don Mancini, who's been with the franchise since creating Chucky and serving as a writer on the original Child's Play film. Mancini has served as a writer on every installment of the franchise, barring the 2019 remake, and directed Seed, Curse, and Cult of Chucky. He's also brought back many franchise favorites to reprise their roles from the films for the new series, such as Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent, Fiona Dourif, Christine Elise, and Billy Boyd. The series also stars Zackary Arthur, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Teo Briones.

Chucky season 2 ended with a cliffhanger and some unanswered questions as Mancini isn't planning on ending this story just yet. He knows that a renewal isn't guaranteed, and in a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Mancini suggests that the story could possibly revert back to the feature film format if the TV series winds up ending here. In any case, the goal is to keep telling more stories with Chucky.

"It's an interesting cliffhanger that we've left things on because now those kids are much more, what's the phrase, front footed than they've ever been before with regard to what they need to do to deal with Chucky," Mancini explained. "Because now Caroline has gone off with Tiffany. Now, they're confiding in Miss Fairchild. So, it's basically taking those characters who have aged as kids, but also as Chucky survivors. And now, they're more in the category of Kyle and Andy. They know the truth about Chucky. They have to be more on the offensive now than they've ever been going into the future."

As Chucky hasn't been officially renewed, there's no premiere date at this time for season 3. You can see some more of the fan demands for the renewal below.
