An official trailer has been released for season 2 of Chucky. Set to debut on Oct. 5 for USA Network and SyFy, the "Second Coming" brings back horror's favorite killer doll for more mayhem to spread on the small screen following an acclaimed first season. You can get your sneak peek at the new episodes now by checking out the trailer below.

Of course, Brad Dourif returns as the voice of Chucky, while Jennifer Tilly and other franchise favorites will also return. Devon Sawa will play an original character in season 2 after playing twin brothers in season 1. An official description for Chucky from USA and SyFy reads:

"Chucky is a continuation of the iconic film franchise chronicling the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. In the TV series, Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy. Meanwhile, can “Jevon” make it as a couple in the face of adversity at their new Catholic school, not to mention a brand-new onslaught of terror from the demon doll?"

Chucky is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and executive produced by Don Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner, and Jeff Renfroe.

"Once you get into your fourth decade in a franchise, it's trying to forge ahead into unseen, unexplored territory," Chucky creator Don Mancini said of finding new ground to cover with this TV series, via Bloody Disgusting. "And the idea of multiple Chucky dolls always appealed to me. First, of course, just as a visual, it's irresistible, but then conceptually, there are so many things you can do with it."

He added, "I can't talk too much about that because I don't want to spoil fun coming in season two, but insofar as it impacted what we've already done in season one. Yeah, it was important that they not have a hive mind because I think it's more interesting to do this and, again, turn Brad on subtle variations of the Chucky persona. On a lot of fronts, that's something we were doing a lot of in this season of Chucky, which is dissecting the persona of Chucky and the persona of Charles Lee Ray."

Chucky returns when season 2 premieres on Oct. 5, 2022.
