“Whatever happened to Chucky?” That’s the question that opens the official teaser trailer for the second season of Chucky. When we last left off, Chucky (Brad Dourif) had succeeded in creating an army of dolls and was about to ship himself all over the country. Right when it seemed like longtime nemesis Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) was going to thwart those plans, a possessed Tiffany doll with a loaded gun pops up.

The trailer doesn’t shed light on Andy’s fate. Though the Tiffany doll isn’t shown, some of the Chuckys are seen escaping from their boxes and climbing on the truck’s roof. While driving erratically to fend the dolls off, Andy is shown saying, ‘this is for Kyle.’ That’s in reference to his foster sister, played by Christine Elise, whose briefly shown running away from something in the trailer. Meanwhile, the fates of the other surviving main characters are more definitively revealed.

Teenagers Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), who helped thwart Chucky’s invasion plans, are all shown to be in really bad shape. After getting together during season one, Jake and Devon now seem estranged, possibly due to Jake entering foster services. Lexy, meanwhile, has moved on from smoking weed to doing a harder drug, cocaine.

Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) is shown enjoying herself with a captive Nica (Fiona Dourif), still possessed by Chucky but now has her arms and legs cut off. While Tiffany has called it quits with Chucky, she has done that a couple of times before, so there’s still a possibility of them getting back together. Plus, with Nica expressing vengeance, Tiffany’s “relationship bliss” with Nica seems like it’s going to end sooner or later.

The trailer also provides us our first look at a returning Glen and Glenda, now played by Lachlan Watson of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fame. After presumably arriving in a pink car with the license plate “They Them,” the twins are only shown from behind. The trailer doesn’t clarify which twin is supposed to be which, though.

During season one, Final Destination and Casper actor Devon Sewa played Jake’s father and uncle, both of whom were killed off at the very beginning and very end of the season. It was previously announced that Sewa would be returning as a new character, and we now have some idea of who that’ll be.

During the trailer, Sawa is shown playing a priest in what appears to be a boarding school that Jake, Evan, and Lexy are now attending, based on the uniforms there wearing. Lara Jean Chorostecki is seen playing a nun (someone at Movieweb was clearly very wrong with their season two predictions) and presumably working in the same location as Sawa’s new character.

Before the trailer was released, it was announced that there was going to be a Bound reunion, with Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano joining the cast. They’re not in the trailer, leaving it still unclear as to who they’ll be playing. The same goes for Meg Tilly, Jennifer Tilly’s real-life sister, who’s recently returned to acting after spending several years focusing on her children.
