WARNING: There are MAJOR SPOILERS in this story for the series finale of Better Call Saul.

We now know what ultimately happens to Saul Goodman following his many exploits in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul with the latter show's series finale airing on Monday night. After getting recognized by his new pal Marion (Carol Burnett), Jimmy "Gene Takavic" McGill (Bob Odenkirk) tried to go back on the run, but the cops were quick to catch up with him. Now incarcerated, Jimmy realized that his life as a Cinnabon manager in Omaha was over, and he used his phone call to let a co-worker know that he wouldn't ever be coming back.

After the episode, Cinnabon acknowledged Gene's fate in an interesting way. The company posted a tweet linking to its official website's "Careers" page with its various job openings and wrote, "NOW HIRING: General Manager in Omaha, Nebraska."

Of course, losing his job at Cinnabon was the least of Jimmy's troubles. In custody, he faced very serious charges, and while he could have finagled his way to a light sentence with a plea deal, it would have required him to continue on with his dishonesty. Jimmy decided to instead abandon Saul Goodman once and for all by coming clean for the first time in his life even if it meant likely spending the rest of his days in prison. At least what he's learned at Cinnabon can be put to good use behind bars with Jimmy now baking bread for his fellow inmates.

In the end of Breaking Bad, Saul Goodman happens to tell Walter White (Bryan Cranston) that, if he's lucky, he'll be managing a Cinnabon in Omaha with his new identity. That helped inspire the creative team behind Better Call Saul to actually start the new series with a flash-forward sequence revealing Saul actually doing just that where he's been given the name of Gene Takavic, thanks to a certain vacuum cleaner repairman.

Cinnabon was also featured in the final season in a significant way. After Gene had been recognized as Saul by a local cab driver, originally played by Don Harvey before the role was recast with Pat Healy, he surmised that Jeff the cabbie had wanted Saul to help him get involved with "the game." They then planned an elaborate department store heist that was dependent upon a certain security guard (Jim O'Heir) and his love for eating Cinnabon.

Better Call Saul might be over, but fans of the series will continue to associate the show with Cinnabon for a long time to come.
