Rosario Dawson's first film as producer, Descent has been picked up by City Lights Pictures Releasing.

The harrowing drama also has Dawson starring as a college student slowly recovering from a brutal date rape. The Hollywood Reporter adds while trying to rebuild her life, she decides to take revenge on her attacker (Chad Faust) in a manner City Lights CEO Danny Fisher describes as 'equally shocking, controversial and graphic.'

Talia Lugacy, a longtime friend of Rosario Dawson, is making her directorial debut; she co-wrote the script with Brian Priest especially for the actress. Fisher said he is prepared to release Descent unrated or with an NC-17 rating because of its violence as he doesn't want to diminish the power of the material. It's set for release in late spring.
