Clark Gregg is probably best known for playing the fan-favorite role of Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Gregg originated back in 2008 in the franchise's first film Iron Man, and then went on to reprise the role in Iron Man 2 (2010) and Thor (2011) before being killed off by the Ultimate Bad-Egg Directorial Challenger in The Avengers (2012). However, the character was brought back in ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., in which the actor died and came back as several versions of Agent Coulson throughout the series.

Most recently, Gregg was heard voicing Agent Coulson on the What If...? animated series on Disney+, an appearance that once again sparked conversations regarding the character's sexuality. Like many Marvel Studios' stars, Gregg is active on social media, often posting about his political beliefs and sharing photos of himself hanging out with his puppy, Lucy. But yesterday, Gregg shared a much different post to Twitter: he shared that he was recently involved in a car accident.

"Last week an oncoming car hit a boulder and slammed into my beloved 2013 Tesla, Edith. My puppy, Lucy, and I walked away relatively unscathed thanks to airbags, science and a remarkable solid from the universe. Deep gratitude to @CHP_Ventura and @Tesla motors #RIPEdith," Gregg wrote. Gregg was driving his Tesla Model S, Edith, when the accident happened in Ventura, California. The MCU actor thanked the Tesla team for the reliability of the car's engine, as well as Ventura County California Highway Patrol for assisting with the accident. Good thing he wasn't in a Tesla Tunnel when it happened though!

The MCU actor has already ready to return to the Marvel Universe, revealing last year to Entertainment Weekly that he's always open to returning to the role of Agent Phil Coulson. "I'm so grateful for just the chance to show up every once in a while to do this stuff," Gregg said when asked about Coulson's future at Marvel.

The Coulson actor added, "I can't wait to see The Eternals; I can't wait to see Shang-Chi. I just love the way they're expanding [the MCU]. If there's ever a moment when me or my alter ego can be of use and participate in any of that, I would be thrilled but right now I'm just enjoying it as a fan."

Gregg was not the only action star to be involved in a serious car wreck this week. Arnold Schwarzenegger was also in a serious car accident on Friday. The former Governor of California was in a multi-car collision on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, which seriously injured one of the drivers. However, because of the airbags deployed in Schwarzenegger's vehicle, the Terminator star seems to have escaped serious injury. After the accident, his only statement to the press was:

“He [Schwarzenegger] is fine, his only concern right now is for the woman who was injured.”

The injured driver was reportedly bleeding from her head and was taken to a hospital in an ambulance. According to sources, Schwarzenegger is showing genuine concern for the well-being of the injured woman, and he intends to check in on her. The accident occurred approximately a mile away from the star's residence.
