FremantleMedia North America got the thumbs up for their duet themed competition series to air on CMT. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has ordered eleven Can You Duet? one hour episodes.

Duet? will be modeled after FMNA's juggernauts American Idol and America's Got Talent. It promises to deliver the greatest country music duet in America. The competition will be set up similarly with critical judges and performance-based advancements. The twist is each contestant will compete as part of a duet changing partners every week.

Head of development at CMT, Bob Kusbit says, "We've always wanted to be in the music competition business, but we hadn't found the right partner or just the right concept until now," Chief creative officer Eugene Young says, "We're looking for the next Johnny Cash and June Carter, the next Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, the next Big & Rich or the Judds."

Melanie Moreau and Kusbit will executive produce for CMT. Production is due to begin this spring.
