To mark just 17 days until the release of Cobra Kai Season 5, Netflix has released a new poster that puts the large ensemble cast in the spotlight. With the sinister karate master Terry Silver at its center. Released via Netflix Geeked, the poster teases the incoming war between Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso, William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence, and Thomas Ian Griffith’s Terry Silver, who continues to tighten his stranglehold on the Valley. The new poster shows off its large ensemble cast of beloved characters, including the Karate Kid elders Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, and Yuji Okumoto as Chozen Toguchi. The younger generation, which includes Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz, Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene, Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso, and Jacob Bertrand as Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz, stand ready to fight at the front of the poster.

Cobra Kai has been a massive success since it began back in 2018. The series picks up 34 years after the events of The Karate Kid franchise, and puts the focus on a struggling Johnny Lawrence, now in his 50s, who works as a part-time handyman. After losing his job, a down-and-out Johnny uses his karate skills to defend his new teenage neighbor Miguel Diaz from a group of bullies. Miguel convinces Johnny to teach him the martial art, and thus Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai dojo as a way to recapture his past glories.

A lot has happened since then, including karate battles at school and various All-Valley tournaments, the last of which was won by Cobra Kai, which is now led by The Karate Kid Part III villain Terry Silver. Following the shocking results of the All-Valley Tournament, Cobra Kai Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his "No Mercy" style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused; Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.

Cobra Kai Season 5 Will See Terry Silver Reach Peak Villain

The Karate Kid Part III villain Terry Silver has proven to be a very welcome addition to the world of Cobra Kai, with the pony-tailed menace slivering his way into proceedings and emerging as the series’ biggest snake so far. Actor Thomas Ian Griffith has teased Silver’s influence on season 5, and it sounds like things are somehow going to get even worse for Daniel and Johnny and their newfound alliance.

“You’re going to see the next level of Terry Silver,” Griffith teased. “It is like what the creators say, “What if Terry had won the All Valley Karate Tournament in 1989?” So we’ll explore that — and it is fascinating.”

Starring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Martin Kove, Peyton List, and Thomas Ian Griffith, Cobra Kai Season 5 is due to land on Netflix on September 9.
