Colin Farrell is finalizing a deal to star in the crime thriller Solace for director Afonso Poyart (Two Rabbits). Anthony Hopkins signed on to star back in September 2011 when the project was at New Line Cinema. The film does not have a domestic distributor as of yet, with FilmNation shopping the rights at the Berlin Film Festival.

The story centers on an FBI agent who seeks out a doctor (Anthony Hopkins) with psychic powers to help solve a string of grisly murders. Colin Farrell will portray the serial killer who goes toe-to-toe with the good doctor. The FBI agent has not been cast at this time.

Sean Bailey, Ted Griffin, James Vanderbilt, and Peter Morgan wrote the screenplay. Beau Flynn, Tripp Vinson, and Thomas Augsberger are producing. Production is scheduled to begin in May.
