Mythology Entertainment has acquired the rights to Jerry Clark's upcoming book Pizza Bomber: The Untold Story of America's Most Shocking Bank Robbery for a film adaptation currently titled Collar Bomb Heist.

This bizarre bank robbery took place in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2003, when pizza delivery man Brian Douglas Wells entered a bank with a bomb strapped to his chest. He revealed to bank employees that he had been forced to commit the heist. He was killed immediately after leaving the bank when the bomb detonated. It was later discovered that Brian Douglas Wells was actually a co-conspirator, although he never believed they were actually using a real bomb. Marjorie Diehl Armstrong, believed to be the mastermind behind this ordeal, is currently serving life in prison plus 30 years.

The book, written by former FBI Special Agent Jerry Clark and journalist Ed Palattella, will be published in November. Jerry Clark was the lead investigator who broke the case back in 2003. Clark Peterson, Brad Fischer, James Vanderbilt, Ron Senkowski and Edward McGurn are producing.

If this story sounds familiar to you, the Ruben Fleischer comedy 30 Minutes or Less was loosely based on this true crime tale. This adaptation will take a much more serious look at this heist.
