David E. Kelley's adaptation of the BBC series Life on Mars has just gotten another lead. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Irish actor Colm Meaney will be sharing the screen with star Jason O'Mara.

The ABC series revolves around a detective (O'Mara) who finds himself transported back to 1972. There, he must solve a case that will eventually lead him to solving a crime against his girlfriend in present day Los Angeles.

Meaney is playing Detective Hunt, the gruff, funny head of the homicide unit in 1972 who clashes violently with Sam. The pilot goes into production this year for a possible 2008 airdate.
