Columbia Pictures has bought the rights to Kurt Wimmer's spy-thriller, Edwin A. Salt.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Sunil Perkash will produce the film which centers on Edwin A. Salt, a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy. The Hollywood Reporter adds he eludes capture by superiors who are convinced he is out to assassinate the president. While trying to reunite with his family, he struggles to prove someone else is the traitor.
