In a story from Variety it seems that Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison have picked up an untitled script from Johnathon Schaech, Josh Wolf and Richard Chizmar.

The film takes a funny look at the youth of ex-Baltimore Orioles player Rick Dempsey. Apparently, his Little League coach became a bank robber. Dempsey gave input to the writers as they penned the script.

They writers took the story out all over town and really hit it off with Happy Madison and Columbia Pictures.

"Our pitch was, it's Catch Me if You Can meets The Bad News Bears with a touch of Bad Santa" Schaech mused.

The coach of Dempsey's team, John Jennings, took his team to a Little League World Championship in 1963. He did time for robbing banks and then passed away from cancer after his release from prison.
