Columbia Pictures has picked up screen rights to Enron, a play by Lucy Prebble that dramatizes the scandalous rise and fall of the Texas energy company, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Laura Ziskin will produce and Prebble will write the script.

The play is a story of greed and fraudulent accounting practices that transformed Enron into a powerhouse that at one time employed 22,000 people and reported $111 billion in revenues before its fall.
