Director Marc Webb was in San Diego yesterday for his upcoming superhero sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where he teased the possibility of The Sinister Six appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Sony Pictures confirmed last month that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is coming in 2016, with The Amazing Spider-Man 4 debuting in 2018. When asked about possible villains for these sequels, the director slyly mentioned The Gentleman.

"What about The Gentleman? Think about the Gentleman. I'm just saying. Put that in your... There's your little tidbit. Think about The Gentleman. I'm just saying, think about The Gentleman."

The Gentleman debuted in the novel Spider-Man: The Gathering of the Sinister Six as an incredibly wealthy man who formed this super-villain group to get revenge on Peter Parker, whose parents were involved in the death of his brother. There were several incarnations of The Sinister Six throughout the years, with villains such as Electro, Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Vulture, and Sandman. It is possible also that the director is using The Gentleman as a stand-alone villain.
