The original Conan The Barbarian may have made Arnold Schwarzenegger a star, but the remake of Conan may be in trouble as it goes into another round of re-writes. IGN.com spoke to Nu Image/Millennium Films where they learned that writers Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer have just begun working on their rewrite of the script.

The news that the script is in the throes of another rewrite must be disappointing in light of the fact that the film currently has no director and no cast. Apparently the makers of the film are in talks with some directors, but expect a firmer decision to be made once the script has been approved. Still, they expect to begin production "sooner rather than later", but not until there is a solid script.

Conan has a proposed 2009 release date.
