In 1966, television audiences leapt through an untested top-secret time portal in creator Irwin Allen's time travel odyssey The Time Tunnel, landing on DVD for the first time on January 24, 2006 from Fox Home Entertainment. The most expensive show on TV in its day, due to the sci-fi fantasy special effects, featured the Tic-Toc Base, secret headquarters of the US government's time travel program. This sophisticated and stylishly futuristic series, a contemporary of the original "Star Trek," travels with Dr. Tony Newman (Robert Colbert, "The Young And The Restless") and Dr. Douglas Phillips (James Darren, "T.J. Hooker") and their encounters through time and featured guest performances from the likes of Dennis Hopper (Blue Velvet), Ellen Burstyn (Requiem For A Dream), Carroll O'Connor ("All In The Family") and Tom Skerritt ("The Grid").

The Time Tunnel Volume One Collection includes a time capsule of the show including 15 episodes from the first half of series, the unaired pilot, the original syndicated TV promo, and an Irwin Allen Home Movie, as well as still images from comic books and scrapbooks, spread across four discs.

The Time Tunnel DVD is available for the suggested retail price of $39.98 U.S./$54.98 Canada.

SERIES SYNOPSIS:

"THE CONTROL OF TIME IS POTENTIALLY THE MOST VALUABLE TREASURE THAT MAN WILL EVER FIND." Or so believe the scientists of Project Tic Toc. Located beneath the Arizona desert, the ten-year project's focus is the feasibility of time travel. But when the government reconsiders the project, the scientists have only 24 hours to prove their untested "Time Tunnel" will actually work. Determined to save the project, Dr. Tony Newman and Dr. Doug Phillips go through the tunnel—and quickly find themselves catapulted from one historical event to another, barely escaping with their lives as their colleagues back in Arizona race to figure out a way to bring them back home.
