Showtime Entertainment has announced that the first complete season of the highly-charged, eagerly anticipated, lesbian drama THE L WORD, will be released on DVD November 9, 2004 at a retail suggested price of $69.99. Starring Jennifer Beals, Erin Daniels, Leisha Hailey, Laurel Holloman, Mia Kirshner, Karina Lombard, Eric Mabius, Katherine Moennig and Pam Grier, THE L WORD debuted on the Showtime Entertainment Network in January, 2004, with the show garnering both national publicity and the highest ratings of the season for Showtime.

A 5 disc collectors edition, THE L WORD, The Complete First Season, boasts the hour and a half long pilot episode and 12 additional hours of the Lesbian drama, with a fifth disc dedicated to special features such as a puppet show created by the cast; a Fashion Extra!, a look at the process of buying and clothing the characters of the show; Wardrobe Closet, where fans can find out where to buy the clothes of their favorite character; The L Word Defined, a behind-the-scenes look at the show; a sneak peek of Season 2 and more!

SYNOPSIS:

Bette Porter and Tina Kennard have been a couple for seven years and want to start a family, while their next-door neighbor, Tim, is getting ready for his girlfriend, Jenny, to move in. Soon, after mixing with Bette and Tina’s circle of lesbian friends, Jenny learns that her Midwest background may not have prepared her for what she will soon learn about life, lust and love in Los Angeles.
