Four years in the making, Clapton’s dream-cast of some of the most revered guitarists in the world came to fruition at Crossroads on June 4-6 in Dallas. The first event of its kind, the three-day spectacular bridged musicians and fans alike through the numerous guitar exhibits, clinics and ultimately the 11-hour concert at the Cotton Bowl that raised almost $2.5 million for charity.
“The Crossroads Guitar Festival started with a list of players I admire, musicians whose work on the guitar has inspired legions of others to follow the same path,” said Clapton. “My wish list grew into a three-day event as responses came back with resounding affirmation.”
Royalties from DVD sales will also go to Crossroads Centre in Antigua, founded by Clapton in 1997 to provide treatment and education to chemically dependant persons.
