Targeting one of the most important demographics among consumer groups, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) will unveil a second Girls Night promotion geared to the female market. Launching January 5, SPHE will release 26 DVDs in major retail outlets nationwide, as well as in drug and grocery stores.

The promotion will be supported with an online media campaign reflecting the Girls Night branding on the DVD packaging and on the website. There will also be a movie ticket campaign, where the consumers can purchase a Girls Night branded DVD and receive a free movie ticket to Nicholas Spark's Dear John.

In making the announcement, Marc Rashba, SPE's Vice President of Marketing, stated: "This promotion targets one of the most important buying segments in the market and perhaps one of the most under serviced by the home entertainment industry. Women constitute a primary decision making force both within families and as singles when it comes to the purchase of entertainment products. The first Girl's Night In promotion was extremely successful, and SPHE hopes that this promotion will provide a convenient as well as fun-filled option for the influencer of the family and savvy digital mom."
