Rapper Coolio is gearing up to star in a reality series for the Oxygen Network. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Coolio will be balancing his recording career while trying to raise six teenagers as a single parent on the show.

Six half-hour episodes have been ordered. They will air during the second quarter of 2008. Coolio, whose recording career took off in 1995, boasts three platinum albums and six top 10 hits, including "Gansta's Paradise" and Fantastic Voyage.

Oxygen's Debby Beece stated, "Oxygen likes to rewrite the rulebook for women and women's programming, and this show has a lot of inherent female appeal. Coolio is a single dad raising kids, and it's got a lot of unconventional parenting aspects to it. He wants his kids to do as he says, not as he does."
