Is comic icon Brian Bendis (Ultimate Spider-Man) consulting on the upcoming Spider-Man Reboot?

Here's what he posted on his Twitter page today:

"Just spent a very interesting morning at Sony with the entire spidey movie team!! Very very cool stuff!!"

Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced they are moving forward with a film based on a script by James Vanderbilt that focuses on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.

The movie will be released in both 2D and 3D theaters.

While there is nothing certain about the involvement of Bendis it seems like somebody with his comic pedigree (plus five Eisner Awards) couldn't hurt this project any.

When we get more information we will be sure to post it.
