Franchise star Courteney Cox is back home from Montreal after filming her scenes for Scream 6, the sixth installment of the Scream movie series. The actress revealed that she has wrapped with a fun video posted to Instagram, but given that a certain masked killer makes an appearance, it would seem that leaving the set hasn't put Gale out of danger. You can check out the video below.

In the video, Cox says how happy she is to have her work on Scream 6 completed when she happens to notice something on the security footage from the cameras in her home. Eerie music plays as Ghostface can be seen peering into one camera after another, horrifying the actress. The video cuts out before we can see what ultimately happens with Cox, and while amusing, the footage also serves as a tease of Gale's next confrontation with a new Ghostface in Scream 6.

While Gale will be back on the scene in Scream 6, fans should not expect to see franchise favorite Sidney Prescott. Neve Campbell has stated that she turned down reprising her role for the sixth movie as she felt the financial offer didn't reflect the value she brought to the franchise. There is always the chance fans could see Sidney again in Scream 7, should that sequel come to fruition, but it's looking like Sidney won't be joining Gale in part six.

"I did not feel that what I was being offered equated to the value that I bring to this franchise, and have brought to this franchise, for 25 years, and as a woman in this business, I think it's really important for us to be valued and to fight to be valued," Campell recently told People. "I honestly don't believe that if I were a man and had done five installments of a huge blockbuster franchise over 25 years, that the number that I was offered would be the number that would be offered to a man. And in my soul, I just couldn't do that. I couldn't walk on set feeling that — feeling undervalued and feeling the unfairness, or lack of fairness, around that."

In any case, Courteney Cox will be part of the story next time, and while it's good for the longtime fans to see her again, it could mean bad news for Gale. If she's in the film, that obviously means she is a potential victim of Ghostface, as maybe her luck will finally run out after five previous movies. What we know is that Cox was happy to return as she was happy with the script.

"I don't know about contracts and where things are, but I'll tell you in the script -- it's a really good one," Cox told Entertainment Tonight, though she couldn't divulge any spoilers. "You actually have to be killed if you talk about it, so I'm not gonna say anything."

Scream 6 will be released in movie theaters on March 31, 2023.
