James Kakalios, author of the book "The Physics of Superheroes", is serving as a consultant for Zak Snyder's Watchmen movie, according to the Pharyngula blog. Professor PZ Myers, who runs the science-oriented blog, says:
"All I know is that Jim promises that it is excellent and true to the graphic novel. And as a fellow follower of the Code of the Thin Tweed Line, he cannot lie to a fellow academic. This will be something to look forward to."
First published in 2005, "The Physics of Superheroes" is a popular science book by physics professor and long-time comic-book fan James Kakalios. In the book, Kakalios uses scenes from comics to explore the laws of physics from unusual angles.
Watchmen is set for a March 2009 release.
