Just a few weeks after Warner Bros. gave a November 25 release date for their Rocky spinoff Creed, new photos have emerged from the Philadelphia set, featuring Sylvester Stallone reprising his role as Rocky Balboa, and Michael B. Jordan as the grandson of Apollo Creed. The story follows Creed as he tries to start a boxing career, with Balboa reluctantly coming aboard to serve as his new trainer. Tessa Thompson also stars as the female lead, although no specific details were given about her character.

The plot is also said to delve into the Rocky franchise mythology, although we don't know much more about the story. Real-life boxer Andre Ward will play Creed's nemesis Pretty Ricky Porter, with another boxer, Tony Bellew, also starring in an unspecified role. It isn't known how much shooting remains on the project, with the release just nine months away.

Ryan Coogler, who directed Michael B. Jordan in the critically-acclaimed indie Fruitvale Station, is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Aaron Covington. While we wait for more details about the Creed spinoff, take a look at these new photos from the set below.
