Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) is seeking a "proper welcome" from Lucille Sharpe (Jessica Chastain), the sister of her husband Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston) in a new clip from Crimson Peak. While we don't get anything too scary in this scene, Jessica Chastain's Lucille Sharpe makes it clear that Edith shouldn't go into certain parts of the house. We'll have to wait and see whether or not Edith will heed this warning, as we get closer and closer to Crimson Peak's October 16 release.
Written by both Guillermo del Toro and Matthew Robbins, Crimson Peak is a co-production between Legendary and Universal Pictures. Set in the aftermath of a family tragedy, the film follows an aspiring author, who is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds... And remembers.
From Legendary Pictures, Crimson Peak boasts a cast of fan favorites that can't be rivaled in any other movie coming this fall. Along with Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam also stars alongside Guillermo del Toro regular Doug Jones. Supernatural fans will be excited to see Jim Beaver in an integral role.
Guillermo del Toro directs from a script he co-wrote with Guillermo del Toro and Matthew Robbins, with the director also producing alongside Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Callum Greene with Jillian Share. The film is set to hit theaters October 16, going up against Bridge of Spies and Goosebumps in wide release. This haunted house thriller will also go up against indie films such as Room, Truth and Woodlawn.
