This is the long awaited sequel to the original Oscar-winning epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon from 2000. The film will premiere around the world on Netflix on Friday February 26, 2016. It will also be available in IMAX.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny tells an epic story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword. It also tells of one last opportunity at redemption, set against breathtaking action in an epic martial arts battle between good and evil. The fate of the Martial World will be decided in this action-packed sequel.
Woo-ping Yuen directs Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. He is a renowned martial arts choreographer. He is best known for The Matrix and his work on Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2. The film brings back original star Michelle Yeoh, who reprises her role as Yu Shu Lien. She is joined by martial arts legend Donnie Yen, best known for Ip Man series and who has a major role in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He will introduce the new character Silent Wolf.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is Based on the acclaimed novel, Iron Knight, Silver Vase, by Wang Dulu (book 5 in the Crane-Iron Pentalogy) and written by John Fusco (Marco Polo). The new film is produced by Harvey Weinstein (Academy Award winner - The King's Speech, The Artist) and Peter Berg (Emmy Award winner - Friday Night Lights; Lone Survivor, Hancock) and Sarah Aubrey (Friday Night Lights; Lone Survivor, Hancock). It is executive produced by Morten Tyldum (Headhunters, The Imitation Game), Ralph Winter (X-Men franchise), Anthony Wong and Bey Logan (The Medallion).
