Larry David is the hero we all need, although he is also quite lazy, in a new trailer for Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9, which pokes some fun at the superhero genre. The trailer features a few references to the show itself, including a theater marquee that only reads "Mr. Simmington" (Ricky Gervais), the Al Abbas chicken restaurant, and some graffiti in an alley that reads "Respect wood," before we see a Bat-signal type of device on a rooftop, but instead of shining the iconic Batman logo, it shines Larry David's face. Upon seeing this signal, Larry decides he doesn't want to answer the call, since he's relaxing in bed.

While we still have a few months left before this long-awaited season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, you can already see some episodes early, if you aren't opposed to going through illegal channels. As part of the massive HBO cyber-attack, hackers have leaked Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes, months before they are slated to air on HBO. Larry David has yet to comment on the leak of his episodes, which are the first episodes of the hit series since Season 7 aired way back in 2009. These same hackers have also leaked episodes of Ballers and Room 104, with episodes of Game of Thrones also leaking during unrelated incidents.

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm, starring Larry David, returns for its ten-episode ninth season Sunday, October 1 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), on HBO. The show stars Seinfeld co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. The new season brings back cast favorites Cheryl Hines as Cheryl, Jeff Garlin as Jeff, Susie Essman as Susie and J.B. Smoove as Leon, as well as series veterans Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. The new trailer premiered on HBO YouTube earlier today.

Also appearing on Curb Your Enthusiasm this season are Elizabeth Banks, Ed Begley, Jr., Carrie Brownstein, Bryan Cranston, Lauren Graham, Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Offerman, Nasim Pedrad and Elizabeth Perkins. Season nine directors include Jeff Schaffer, Larry Charles, Robert B. Weide, Jessie Nelson and Bryan Gordon. Curb Your Enthusiasm was created by Larry David, and executive produced by Larry David, Jeff Garlin and Jeff Schaffer. No plot details have been released for this season quite yet, and since none of these trailers seem to feature any actual footage, it remains to be seen when we may get any actual story details in regards to this new season.

There has also been talk of a Curb Your Enthusiasm movie, which executive producer Jeff Schaffer mentioned during an interview, long before Season 9 was fully confirmed by HBO. We haven't heard anything official about a Curb Your Enthusiasm movie at this time, or whether it would be a theatrical endeavor, or if it would be an HBO movie. Larry David did reach a new level of popularity last year for playing Bernie Sanders in a Saturday Night Live sketch. While we wait for more on Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9, take a look at this new trailer below that pokes fun of the superhero genre.
