The 2009-2010 TV season has its first casualty. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the CW Network has canceled its brand new series The Beautiful Life: TBL after just two episodes.

The series was in production on its seventh episode when production was shut down on Friday. While the series only aired two episodes, the network doesn't have any plans to air the remaining episodes that were filmed.

The series was produced by Ashton Kutcher and starred Mischa Barton, who received publicity stemming from health problems this summer before the series premiered.

It wasn't quite clear how the network would fill the vacancy as of yet, but there was speculation that the network might run a repeat of the network's new Melrose Place series in The Beautiful Life: TBL's Wednesday night slot at 9 PM.
