Another mutant is joining the cast of the Hugh Jackman-starring X-Men Origins: Wolverine. X-Men Films.net tells us that Cyclops is going to be appearing in the prequel to the X-Men films.

Australian actor Tim Pockock will be playing a young Scott Summers in the film. Considering that the first meeting between Cyclops and Wolverine seemed to occur in the first X-Men, it seems a little odd to have the characters meet in this movie - especially since Cyclops isn't supposed to be nearly as old as Logan.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine explores Wolverine's early days, before joining the X-Men. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Dominic Monaghan, Danny Huston, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, will.i.am, Daniel Henney, Scott Adkins and Lynn Collins. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is due to arrive in theatres in 2009.
