D.J. Caruso is in talks to direct A Walk Among the Tombstones, which is an adaptation of the Lawrence Block novel for Cross Creek Pictures.

Based on a script by Scott Frank, A Walk Among the Tombstones centers on the character Matthew Scudder, an alcoholic ex-cop who investigates the kidnapping of a heroin kingpin's wife, who the kidnappers begin to send back in pieces.

A Walk Among the Tombstones was in development nearly 14 years ago, but never made it into production as edgy dramas went out of fashion.
