The D23 Expo, the showcase event led by the Official Disney Fan Club, unveiled what the biggest presentations will be, via Collider. Marvel and Lucasfilm will announce details regarding their upcoming projects. The D23 event will take place from September 9, 2022 to September 11, 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center. At the location, Disney100 will begin, which celebrates 100 years of the Walt Disney Company's existence. Since the company was founded, many movies, tv shows, theme parks, and cruise ships have been created, bringing joy to millions around the world. . Disney100 will feature the Disney Legends Award Ceremony.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek will appear at the ceremony, which acts as a Hall of Fame for the company. Multiple visionaries and artists who have contributed to Disney projects will be inducted into the group. New members of the group will be unveiled before the ceremony officially begins. Recent inductees include well-known names, such as Robert Downey Jr., Ming-Na Wen, James Earl Jones, and Jon Favreau. Downey Jr. obviously starred as Iron Man in the MCU. James Earl Jones lent his iconic voice to Darth Vader. Ming-Na Wen plays the bounty hunter Fennec Shand in multiple Star Wars tv projects. Favreau has arguably contributed the most out of the four to Disney. He serves as the showrunner to The Mandalorian, in addition to directing the remakes of The Jungle Book and The Lion King.
On Friday afternoon, guests will see first looks and announcements relating to films developed by Disney Live-Action, Pixar Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Cast and crew members will discuss upcoming titles. Previously, consumers got their first look at the animated feature Raya and the Last Dragon at this event.
The biggest announcements might occur at the Marvel and Lucasfilm panels
Saturday will arguably bring more excitement for fans because that is the day that features the Marvel and Lucasfilm panels. The brands have created many of the most popular Disney projects, from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films to The Mandalorian TV series. Announcements are not to be missed on this day. The biggest announcements might occur at the panels.
On that afternoon, Disney Branded Television will take the spotlight. TV shows from Disney+, Disney Junior, and the Disney Channel will be featured. New reveals will be included alongside details regarding the previously announced National Treasure, American Born Chinese, and The Santa Clause.
Finally, on Sunday morning, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D'Amaro will reveal new aspects of Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line, and more. Later, that afternoon, guests will be treated to a performance of Disney Princess - The Concert. Singers will include, Susan Egan, Broadway’s original Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and Meg in Hercules, Isabelle McCalla of Aladdin, Disney Channel star Anneliese van der Pol, and Syndee Winters.
Stars from the theater and small screen will sing at the event. Additionally, music director Benjamin Rauhala and Adam J. Levy will join the cast. The group will perform several beloved Disney Princess songs, such as, Part of Your World, Let It Go, A Whole New World, Colors of the Wind, and Almost There. They will also discuss their personal experiences working for Disney.
