Joel Schumacher still has a gritty action film on his plate, but it's looking totally different with a new set of writers. According to Variety, Friday the 13th remake writers Damien Swift and Mark Shannon have been brought on board to Joel Schumacher's film that's now known as Inland Saints.

The project was formerly titled Fix and was based off a pitch by The Shield's Kurt Sutter, and revolved around a gang leader who falls in love with the daughter of the detective who's trying to take down the gang. This new Swift and Shannon film will be an action-horror hybrid set in a seedy desert locale overrun by gangs and drugs.

Full plot details are still being considered and there has been no production schedule set for the film.
