Fox has acquired rights to develop a U.S. version of the U.K. hit comedy Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, according to Variety.

ABC confirmed that the series will reunited the My Wife and Kids team of Damon Wayans and producer Don Reo (Everybody Hates Chris).

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em uses a large dose of physical comedy to tell the story of Frank Spencer, who seems to always be surrounded by disaster. Phil Stark (That '70s Show) will write and executive produce the project.

The half-hour comedy will star Wayans as a man who discovers his late wife had a 19-year-old son. The young man moves in with his stepfather, and a generational clash ensues.

The title of the Americanized series will probably change.
