Paul McGuigan signed on to direct back in September, working from a screenplay by Chronicle writer Max Landis. The story is said to be a revisionist take on Mary Shelley's original novel, tackling themes such as friendship and redemption. There will also be a sci-fi twist element involved.
John Davis is producing through his Davis Films banner. It isn't known when production will begin.
Since wrapping up the Harry Potter franchise in 2011, Daniel Radcliffe has starred in a wide variety of projects. He was last seen in 2012's The Woman in Black, and stars in upcoming films such as Horns and Kill Your Darlings.
