It seems that Danny McBride is back in business with his director from The Foot Fist Way and Observe and Report, Jody Hill, for a new film. Variety is reporting that McBride has signed on to the new film L.A.P.I. for Hill to direct.

The film will be written by the hot writing team of Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan and, although story details weren't revealed, it was said that McBride would play a downtrodden private investigator.

Dilberti and Sullivan had two scripts on the 2009 Black List and are also writing a remake of Brewsters Millions for Warner Bros., as we reported back in August.

The project is the first to be developed through Rough House Pictures, a production company formed by McBride, Hill and director David Gordon Green.
